The National Rehabilitation Center is committed to establishing, implementing, operating, and maintaining an effective Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) that complies with the NCEMA 7000:2021 and ISO 22301 standards, with the aim of achieving organizational resilience. The Business Continuity Policy applies to all NRC’s sectors and demonstrates NRC management’s commitment towards ensuring continuity of business during a disaster, emergency, or crisis.

Top management demonstrates its commitment by:

  • Ensuring that the Business Continuity Management System aligns with the NRC’s strategic objectives.
  • Implementing and continuously updating business continuity strategies.
  • Providing the necessary resources to implement, operate, and maintain the continuity of activities and services – especially critical ones – including financial, technical, and human resources, in addition to capacity building and training, and effectively addressing any issues that could affect the operations.
  • Ensuring that all sectors and business units conduct a comprehensive Business Impact Analysis and Risk Assessment, to identify and prioritize critical functions and processes, and to guide recovery efforts.
  • Ensuring that recovery strategies and business continuity plans are developed to enable the effective restoration of critical functions.
  • Participating in review and evaluation of the effectiveness of the NRC’s Business Continuity Management System, through audits, assessments and reviews and ensuring its continual improvement.

This policy is reviewed annually to ensure its continuous suitability and improvement, and it is communicated to all stakeholders.
