Overview

  • Draft the overall strategy for treatment and rehabilitation of the centre, develop treatment approaches and mechanisms based on the best science and research-backed practices and in accordance to Abu Dhabi Department of Health’s needs

  • Put in place a governance structure in order to organize medical and treatment operations to ensure science-backed practices are adhered to as well as patents’ safety and the continuous improvement of systems and treatment processes according to national and international standards

  • Put in place policies and procedures for psychiatry, clinical psychology, social services and support medical services such as pharmacy, laboratory and medical records and ensure they are adhered to and continuously improved

  • Utilize an innovative means in order to establish excellence-characterized health environment based on the provision of the best treatment services which consider patient’s needs

  • Endeavour to develop staff capabilities in areas of expertise through provision of on-the-job training programmes, learning opportunities and professional development

  • Develop treatment programmes which suit all current and targeted segments and strive to improve and update them continuously as well as taking advantage of related studies and research in order to improve patients’ experience and maintain the distinguished status of the centre

  • Provision of treatment programmes for all patient categories in in all facilities which belong to the centre in accordance with policies and procedures adopted by the centre and in collaboration with other administrations in the centre and concerned external partners

  • Manage the centre’s pharmacies and laboratories according to professional standards and ensure related policies and procedures are adhered to as well as Abu Dhabi Department of Health’s requirements

  • Manage medical records for all patients according to professional standards and ensure related policies and procedures are adhered to as well as Abu Dhabi Department of Health’s requirements

Department of Psychiatry

  • Put into practice treatment-related policies and procedures adopted by the centre and ensure adherence to the highest standards of professional integrity

  • Provision of psychiatric services to all categories of patients in outpatient and inpatient clinics and the NRC’s facilities in collaboration with administrations and department

  • Carry out psychological and medical assessments in collaboration with concerned administrations and departments in accordance with the centre’s adopted standards

  • Prepare treatment plans based on assessment, check up and psychological analysis outcomes and endeavor to put them into practice and monitor them in collaboration with the concerned administrations and departments

  • Contribute in drafting a research strategy in collaboration with Public Health and Research Administration in addition to the provision of practical support in area of expertise and contribute in drafting the centre’s scientific publications

  • Consideration to privacy and total confidentiality requirements with regard to patients and ensure the existence of guidelines which prevent the centre from any medical or professional risks

Department of Clinical Psychology

  • Implementing policies and procedures for treatment approved at the National Center and ensuring compliance with the highest standards of professional integrity

  • Providing psychological treatment services to all categories of patients in the external and internal clinics and sites of the National Rehabilitation Center, in coordination with the relevant departments and departments

  • Conducting psychological evaluations, in coordination with the relevant departments and divisions, according to the standards approved by the center

  • Implementing group or individual therapy sessions based on the programs approved at the center

  • Propose developing therapeutic programs according to the needs of patients and their groups, and work to design them according to the recognized scientific foundations and best practices and strive to adopt them

  • Contribute to the preparation of the research strategy in coordination with the Department of Public Health and Research and provide practical support in the field of specialization, and contribute to the preparation of scientific publications issued by the center

  • Take into account the privacy, requirements of complete confidentiality around patients and ensure that controls are in place to avoid any occupational risks

Department of Social Services

  • Put in practice social services-related policies and procedures

  • Carry out the social assessment for patients and diagnose their social status in order to provide a suitable treatment plan for each patient

  • Contribute in drafting and executing patients’ treatment plans in collaboration with concerned administrations and departments

  • Contribute in executing group therapy sessions to make patients aware about life skills related to work, family, learning, relationships, finances and other matters

  • Carry out individual therapy sessions with patients and/or their families according to treatment plans or when needed depending on each case in collaboration with concerned administrations and departments

  • Provide counselling and guidance to patients and/or their families with regard to life choices and helping them reach other services in the centre or through partners which specialize in social support

  • Contribute in drafting a research strategy in collaboration with Public Health and Research Administration and provide practical support in area of expertise as well as contributing in drafting scientific leaflets which the centre issues

Department of Pharmacy

  • Put into practice pharmacy-related policies and procedures

  • Provision of drugs and medical supplies and providing them to patients according to practitioners’ prescriptions as well as the policies and procedures set by Abu Dhabi Health Department

  • Ensure provision drug supply in quantities required to cover demand according to patients’ categories

  • Assist psychiatrists in determining treatment plans with drugs and determine the suitable doses according to Abu Dhabi Health Department requirements and the best international practices

Laboratory department

  • Implementing laboratory-specific policies and procedures

  • Providing laboratory testing services of all types, expressing opinion on the results of analyzes, and submitting reports according to the requirements and documentation specifications that can be relied upon in the courts.

  • Taking samples from patients, according to the requirements of the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi, and in the field of specialization and workplace in coordination with the relevant departments and departments

  • Conducting analyzes of blood types, blood and tissues, and tests to verify the presence of alcohol and toxins and raise the results to psychiatrists

  • Ensure periodically the safety of laboratory equipment, the accuracy of calibration, the accuracy of the results and their conformity with scientific conditions, and carry out periodic maintenance thereof and strive to apply the latest technical developments to improve the quality of services

  • Ensure the presence of laboratory tools and medical supplies in accordance with the necessary quantities in coordination with the Procurement Department, and keep them in warehouses in conformity with specifications according to the requirements of the Health Department Abu Dhabi

  • Applying occupational health and safety specifications within the laboratories and verifying the employees' practices of the practices required to ensure the safety of patients in the center and laboratory personnel

  • Providing research support by assisting researchers in any work related to laboratory tests, reports or information within the framework of confidentiality and the policies in place at the center

Medical Information Management Department

Patient Files Unit

  • Apply approved policies and procedures for medical records.

  • Issuing periodic reports required to support medical and administrative decisions and preparing performance indicators for medical departments and departments in coordination with relevant departments and departments

  • Issuing special reports upon request in accordance with the approved policies and procedures

  • Providing support to research by increasing them with available data and reports in the form that supports their work

  • Keeping and managing medical data for patients, ensuring their comprehensiveness, and working to keep them constantly updated according to Abu Dhabi Health Department standards and best practices

  • Providing files for the medical staff according to their work requirements with the best specifications and standards

Coding unit

  • Apply approved policies and procedures for medical records.

  • Designing and implementing a coding system according to the accepted protocols in the Health Authority Abu Dhabi and other related bodies

  • Assist the medical staff in using the coding system in the therapeutic process in all its stages, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment plans, supervision and follow-up.

  • Prepare a medical summary for each symbol to facilitate the extraction of information and prepare reports that can be used in research, treatment, and others
